Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake Superior has several top-notch cross-country ski trail systems. A ski pass is normally required to use these trails. This article will tell you what type of ski pass you will need for each trail system.
Most cross-country ski trails require the Great Minnesota Ski Pass, which is issued by the MN DNR. These can be purchased online, in advance. Be sure to have your pass while you’re on the trails.
Often, these trail systems are groomed and maintained by volunteers and a local trail association. Donations to help keep up the trails are always appreciated if there is a drop-box at the trail head!
