Gitchi-Gami State Trail
Bike Trail by Lake Superior
Description
The Gitchi-Gami State Trail is a paved, non-motorized trail along Minnesota’s North Shore of Lake Superior, offering spectacular scenery for biking, walking, running, and rolling.
Currently, there are 5 separate trail segments: Two Harbors; Silver Creek Tunnel; Gooseberry Falls State Park – Silver Bay; Schroeder – Lutsen; and Cut Face Creek to Grand Marais. The trail connects North Shore communities, state parks, waterfalls, forests, and Lake Superior views.
The Gitchi-Gami State Trail is built and maintained by the Minnesota DNR and supported by the nonprofit Gitchi-Gami Trail Association, which advocates for continued trail development, promotes the trail, and brings together members, businesses, and communities to help the trail grow and thrive.
Join the GGTA’s annual fundraiser and a whooping good time at the Annual North Shore Bike Ride and Roll, which takes place the 3rd Saturday in August.
