High Ropes Courses and Ziplines on the North Shore MN
This unforgettable experience will have you bonding with your kids, friends, and family as you make your way through the challenging obstacles, and race on the 400-foot dual ziplines!
There are six high ropes courses with five levels of difficulty. Each challenge course offers a series of obstacles and ziplines as a combined experience. Start on an easy course to learn the ropes (pun intended!). Climb at your own pace to move up to harder courses. Each trail graduates to being higher off the ground, and having more difficult obstacles. Before you know it, you’ll be conquering the bouncy flying rings, the swinging step bridge, and the giant hanging U ropes!
But make no mistake, this isn’t just for kids and athletes! There is something for everyone at the North Shore Adventure Park whether you are young or old. The best part is that you can participate at your own level, and challenge yourself to achieve success at your own pace! It is all about having fun, building confidence, and sharing a unique outdoor experience with friends and family.
Safety at the North Shore Adventure Park
Safety is the first priority at the North Shore Adventure Park! Their staff undergoes at least 40 hours of training in order to provide the best possible experience and keep you safe.
Once you check-in for your reservation, you’ll attend the safety briefing. Watch a video and a staff demonstration about safety procedures including how to use the “always locked on” system which ensures that you’re always attached to the course.
Next, the staff will get you into your harness and bring you to the practice course. The practice course gives you a chance to do a dry-run using the “always locked on” system, which is not difficult, but you’ll want to get the hang of it before getting on the course.
Note – you will want gloves to protect your hands from the rope and cable while climbing. Gloves are available for purchase, or you can bring your own.
The safety briefing, harnessing, and practice line takes about 30 minutes. After that, start your adventure on the high ropes courses and ziplines! Choose your own adventure along any of the 6 courses. Staff is stationed around the park to give assistance either from the ground or in the air to climbers that need help.
Fun to Play and Fun to Watch
If you don’t climb, you’ll have just as much fun watching and cheering your friends and family as they crush the course! There are trails and benches on the ground where you can follow your people as you watch. It’s also a great video and picture-taking opportunity.
Get a picnic table and keep a home base for your group. You could also bring your own camp chairs.
Fun to play and fun to watch!
Activity for Little Kids on the North Shore
The North Shore Adventure Park has activities specifically for ages 3-6! There are easy obstacles that are low to the ground, and a short zipline. It’s a safe and fun challenge for little ones! Help your lil’ rascal through the course and watch them build confidence as they navigate the obstacles.
Picnic Areas
There are reservable picnic tables stationed around the park. Set up a home base and make the most of your time at the park. Pack a picnic or order take-out from a local restaurant. Click here for my Restaurant and Picnic Guide.
Bring Your Group to the North Shore Adventure Park
This is a great activity for groups! Whether it’s a youth group, sports team, corporate group, family reunion, or birthday party – it will be the most memorable group or party experience that you’ve had in a while (or ever!).
Tips for planning your day at the North Shore Adventure Park.
- Make a reservation online in advance to ensure that you can book the time that you want. Space fills up fast. You’ll also save money vs. paying the walk-up rate.
- Sign up for their email list to receive special offers.
- If you didn’t plan ahead, that’s ok. Still book online instead of at the window to save money – even if it’s last minute.
- Arrive 20 minutes prior to your reservation time.
- Bring a refillable water bottle (they have water coolers), snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray (especially bug spray!).
- Wear close-toed shoes or sneakers. You will not be allowed on the course with inappropriate footwear.
- Note there is a weight limit of 265.
- Minors need supervision by a parent or guardian. Note that if you have kids 7 – 13 that may want to advance to harder courses, they require supervision on the course. So if your child is climbing alone (without an adult partner on the course) take a special look at this. See the age guidelines for ropes courses and ziplines for more details.
- Porta-potties are available.
- Pack out your trash.
